Decorated cultural ambassadors

Elverum Male Choir (Elverum Mannskor) is a choir in growth which numbers about 50 members. We are a classical choir formed in 1897 and is affiliated with the Norwegian Choir Association,  Østerdalen. The Burgundy-jackets, which the choir is often called, are experiencing a steady stream of new members and are actively expaning their scope of work. Classic male-choir is in many ways seen as the «Mercedes Benz» in the world of choirs and the Elverum Male-choir are not hesitant to seek new and exciting challenges. Our artistic partners range from professional musicians to schoolchildren. We work both internationally, nationally and locally. The choir has been very visible on the local arena, often called upon when one seek entertainment and laughter. This quality, amongs others, earned the choir the Municipality Cultureprice in 2007. This prize, along with increased recognition and popularity, is proof that the rhythmic, emphatic male choir has been promoted to a more aspiring «elite» division.

Although the choir is constantly working towards new artistic goals, the social dimension is equally important. The choir values and expects amongs its’ members respect, teamwork, responsibility, commitment, diversity and openness to the musical and social harmony of performing together.  These elements also constitute the value platform of the choir.

If you you love to sing and want to meet in an estrogen-free zone, in an informal but inspiring athmosphere, we wish you a warm welcome. We rehearse every Monday at Scandic Hotel Central from 19.00 to 21.30.
